Components
Low-maintenance components, such as hub gears, reduce the risk of a fault, but do increase the bike’s weight when compared to derailleurs.
It’s no secret that VICTORIA enjoys a particularly excellent reputation with comfort-focussed trekking pedelecs. Our 2021 programme ensures that we continue to do so. Particularly notable are definitely the 12 and 11 series with completely revamped frames, all of which house Bosch PowerTube batteries (625 und 500 Wh) .
The 10 and 9 series not only provide dynamic appearance with their BOSCH PowerPack 500 batteries concealed by a cover. In amongst this – with many minor and major upgrades and modifications – is what has given VICTORIA its good reputation in recent years: comfort-oriented trekking pedelecs with a clearly above-average value for money.

Summary of the most important VICTORIA trekking pedelec features
Before visiting your eBike dealer, you should know a few things:
Low-maintenance components, such as hub gears, reduce the risk of a fault, but do increase the bike’s weight when compared to derailleurs.
Due to the higher system weight for eBikes, reliable brakes are a must. On the trekking eBike by VICTORIA, hydraulic disc brakes are used, with the entry-level segment being equipped with hydraulic rim brakes.
Derailleur drivetrains may in contrast be lighter but require more care and are more sensitive to dirt and moisture.
Unlike non-electric trekking bikes, the gear ratio scope from the Shimano Nexus 7- and 8-speed hubs combined with mid-motors is more than adequate for cycle touring.
Even more comfortable assistance is provided by constantly variable hub drivetrains – without any gear ratios.
A mid-motor is without doubt the first choice for a touring bike, as this means weight is distributed perfectly.
Rear-wheel drives tend to cause an imbalance in handling.
Front motors often cause slipping, i.e. the front wheel tends to spin when moving off, which specifically when eBike trekking on hilly terrain can be a disadvantage.
Regardless of with or without drive: VICTORIA trekking bikes all share the same good-natured basic character. They are typified by the upright comfortable seating position, whereby the cockpit, consisting of handlebar and stem, makes the biggest contribution as this is relatively high and the handlebar is tilted slightly towards the rider. This means you have a good overview of the traffic situation and the bike is suited to longer leisure rides rather than hunting for king of the mountain titles.
An additional comfort aspect: The construction of the frame and fork is solid and ensures substantial road holding along with stoic, comfortable directional stability. The trekking bikes remain a ride-worthy companion even away from asphalted roads.
Safety has always been very important at VICTORIA. In addition to the hydraulic disc and rim brakes actuated via the brake levers, many hub geared models have a third additional brake – the coaster brake. The tyres on a VICTORIA trekking pedelec all offer, without exception, a high level of puncture protection, by using ones such as the test winning models by SCHWALBE.
Furthermore, high quality components are also used that are characterised by a high degree of functionality and reliability. Apart from Shimano derailleur and hub drivetrains, BOSCH mid-motors are used exclusively for our trekking eBikes. These are available in different versions and capacities depending on the model and specification you choose (Performance CX (85 Nm), Performance (65 Nm), Active Line Plus (50 Nm), Active Line (40 Nm)) (PowerTube 625 / 500, PowerPack 500 / 400 / 300).
Among all of the eBike categories, an electric trekking bike certainly offers the broadest range of applications. Accordingly, the definition of possible owners is as diverse. Targeted are those who like moving around in nature as a matter of principle – not necessarily due to sporting convictions but more because of a general motivation to not be sedentary.
A trekking eBike is the first choice, when it comes to a universal bicycle with built-in tailwind for any type of moderate use: be it as a fully equipped commuting bike that can be used in wind and rain or event in the dark or for a tour with packed panniers along the major cycling routes at home and abroad.
Ultimately, it will be the one bike that fits all for many users in everyday life.
